In the past few years, my husband and I have been fortunate enough to visit many destinations throughout the world. An objective of ours has always been to try and experience the local culture and enjoy the authentic cuisine. Places we have explored include India, Japan, South America, Australia, New Zealand, China and South Africa. Since returning, I have arranged many trips for our regular clients. There is no substitute for local knowledge to be able to advise how to get the best out of a trip. If you are wondering whether any of these destinations would suit you, please don't hesitate to contact me.

In the past 12 months our most memorable holiday was the cruise we did to Norway and the incredibly remote lands of Spitsbergen. Aboard Fred Olsen's Balmoral for two weeks, we enjoyed the spectacular Norwegian fjords. After crossing the Arctic Circle, we then visited the North Cape and sailed north within 700 miles of the North Pole. The 'Land of the Midnight Sun', with its 24-hour daylight, enabled us to be mesmerised by the unbelievable wildlife. Besides numerous whales, dolphins and amazing birdlife, we thought we had seen the rare polar bear — but it turned out to be a white reindeer! We were also amazed by the size and spectacle of the magnificent 'blue' glaciers, stemming back to the Ice Age. If this kind of cruise trip is something you'd like to tick off your bucket list, then feel free to ask me for advice any time.

I have been lucky to visit Florida several times now. As there is so much to see and do, it's always best to plan and pre-book attraction tickets in advance. Although the theme parks are a must-do visit, I really enjoyed our day at Discovery Cove and swimming with the dolphins. We also did an airboat ride at Boggy Creek which is very close to the Orlando area, so not necessary to travel down to the Everglades as it still gives you the airboat experience.

Our recent trip to Iceland in March was very enjoyable. We stayed in the centre of Reykjavik and hired a car to take in the sights. After leaving the airport, we travelled to the Blue Lagoon and although it snowed, the water was lovely and warm! We drove along the volcano coast and also visited the geysers and the bridge between the continents. Unfortunately, we were not lucky enough to see the Northern Lights this time. I guess we will have to go again!
